$34,523 to support the establishment of numeracy programs at five local community centers

Flint, Michigan, November 20, 2022

The Neaton Mathematics' Math4Flint initiative has received a grant of $34,523 from the Community Foundation for Greater Flint to support the start up of numeracy programs at five afterschool community centers: Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village, The Evergreen Literacy Center at the Flint Development Center, Berston Field House, Latinx Technology and Community Center, and The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint.

The mission of the Math4Flint numeracy initiative is to provide programs for the residents of Flint and Genesee County that improve the numeracy skills needed for success in algebra, trigonometry, trade schools and college. Students use Number DNA™, a skill building math software, to strengthen the skills areas that form the foundation for future success in math.

Dan Neaton, cofounder, and CEO of Neaton Mathematics, effused, “Get math and the world is yours! Our younger generations need all of us to help make this adage true. As cofounders, Ed Kulka and I are using the feedback we receive to program new practice sets that will help students succeed. Ed and I wish to thank the Community Foundation of Greater Flint for believing that we can make a difference for Flint area students.
